Jinse Finance reported that, according to informed sources, the leadership of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee hopes to complete revisions to the Responsible Financial Innovation Act by the end of this month. In July, the House of Representatives passed the Financial Transparency Act, after which the Senate Banking Committee and the Agriculture Committee each drafted their own bills, which will later be merged. Last month, the Republican members of the Banking Committee released a revised version, while the Democrats provided a list of principles they hope to see included in the legislation. The Agriculture Committee's draft has not yet been released and may take longer to complete. Although the U.S. Senate recently once again rejected two plans to provide funding for the federal government to end a nine-day shutdown, and the cryptocurrency policy agenda has been put on hold due to the unresolved budget, insiders in Washington believe that the momentum has not completely disappeared. The House of Representatives has suspended work due to the shutdown, while the Senate is still holding meetings on budget and cryptocurrency-related issues.
