Filecoin officially launches Filecoin Onchain Cloud (FOC), expanding from a "decentralized storage network" to "decentralized cloud infrastructure"
ChainCatcher reports that Filecoin has officially launched Filecoin Onchain Cloud (FOC). Filecoin will expand from a "decentralized storage network" to a "verifiable, programmable, and composable decentralized cloud infrastructure," laying the foundation for the next-generation cloud base for AI, autonomous agents, the data economy, and Web3 applications.
In response to the recent large-scale outage of Cloudflare, which affected multiple internet services, FOC will effectively prevent such issues through five core modules: verifiable storage (Warm Storage Service + PDP), programmable settlement (Filecoin Pay), decentralized persistence (Filecoin Pin), verifiable retrieval (Filecoin Beam), and a unified developer API (Synapse SDK). As one of the most significant releases in the Filecoin ecosystem to date, FOC is seen as a key milestone in Filecoin's transition from "decentralized storage" to "on-chain cloud infrastructure." This change means that builders will be able to truly realize ownable, verifiable, and programmable cloud services and execution models on-chain.
