The Trump administration is blocking Elon Musk from testifying in the case to "dissolve USAID"
On November 25, according to foreign media reports, the Trump administration is making every effort to resist attempts by government employees and contractors to require Elon Musk to testify in court. The lawsuit accuses Musk of illegally leading the dissolution of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) while serving as a senior presidential advisor and head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). According to the latest court documents, the Department of Justice has asked a federal judge in Maryland to block the discovery process involving Musk and two former senior USAID officials. As part of Trump's plan to downsize the government through mass layoffs, funding cuts, and agency eliminations, USAID was disbanded earlier this year. USAID employees allege that Musk unconstitutionally exercised senior government powers that should belong to Senate-confirmed officials, and claim that the actions of Musk and other executive branch officials in shutting down this foreign aid agency established by Congress violated the constitutional principle of separation of powers.
