Industry experts: There is little chance that a comprehensive U.S. digital asset markets bill will pass next year
Industry experts suggest that there may be better prospects for the US stablecoin bill next year, but the chance of passing a comprehensive digital asset market bill is small. Ron Hammond, the director of government relations for the Blockchain Association, stated that there is a 75% chance the stablecoin bill will pass in 2024. The "21st Century Financial Innovation and Technology Act" aims to regulate the entire cryptocurrency industry comprehensively. Hammond believes that the chance of this bill passing in some form in 2024 is only 25%, partly due to possible opposition from the SEC, opposition from California Democrat Maxine Waters, and Brown's silence on the issue.
