Galaxy Digital to launch cryptocurrency ETP in European market in coming weeks
Leon Marshall, CEO of the European business of digital asset financial services company Galaxy Digital, said that a cryptocurrency exchange-traded product (ETP) will be launched in Europe "in the next few weeks." “We are working with DWS to launch new ETPs in Europe in a few weeks,” Leon said during a panel discussion at the Blockworks 2024 Digital Asset Summit in London on Tuesday. ETPs are an umbrella term for investment products listed on exchanges, which also include Includes exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Another type of ETP is an exchange-traded note (ETN), which the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) last week opened the door to future approval, albeit limited to institutional investors. In April last year, Galaxy Digital partnered with asset management company DWS to develop ETP, which aims to allow Europeans to invest in digital assets through traditional brokerage accounts.
