Ethernet Update Meeting: Agreed to Include EIP 7251 in Pectra Upgrade, and Continue Working on EIP 7547
March 22 - Galaxy Research VP Christine Kim posted a summary of the 130th Ethernet Core Developer Consensus (ACDC) conference call, where developers discussed and negotiated changes to the mainstream Ethernet Developer Consensus Layer (CL). Developers discussed salient action boundaries related to Dencun upgrades, Pectra proposed upgrades, and improvements to the Ethernet network layer. Developers agreed to include EIP 7251 (adding max_effecve_balance) in Pectra and continue to work on EIP 7547 (inclusion list), possibly in order to include it, and EtherNet Foundation Fellow Danny Ryan highlighted the two main proposals, EIP 7251 and EIP 7547, and emphasized the urgency of making a decision. He noted that the team discussed the need to make a decision by the end of March in order to realize Electra's functional prototype and development network in May. In addition, two proposal proposals for light client development were discussed, including two for synchronization committee penalties and a light client data backfill component, and the meeting solicited input from the CL Client team on these components, particularly the impact of EIP 7251 (addition of max_effecve_balance) on the penalty conditions for large verifiers participating in synchronization committees.
