Surge in Ethereum Blob transactions creates massive backlog in mempool
Deep tide TechFlow news, according to The Block, Blob transactions on Ethereum have surged, exceeding the set capacity. The surge in Blob transactions is related to the introduction of Blob inscriptions.
Analysis of the Dune Analytics dashboard maintained by Hildobby shows a significant trend: 40% of blob transactions are now related to inscriptions.
The data further highlights the massive backlog in the memory pool, with 160 blobs waiting to be processed, according to EtherNow. Ethereum can only contain a maximum of 6 blobs per block, indicating that the backlog of data is 40 times higher than what can fit in a single block.
Previous news, according to The Block, data from Dune Analytics shows that Ethereum blobs are being used to create inscriptions at a record rate, just like Ordinals on Bitcoin.
