The European Central Bank may cut interest rates for the first time in June, and the rate cut for the whole year may reach 100 basis points
According to the Golden Ten report, Giovanni Zanni, chief economist of the Eurozone at NatWest, said that a 100 basis point interest rate cut by the European Central Bank is an appropriate range that can be considered, and the first interest rate cut may be in June. Although inflation is moving closer to target, no rate cut is expected next week. The basic forecast is to cut interest rates by 100 basis points this year, but considering the resilience of U.S. economic data and market uncertainty about the Fed's interest rate cut path, the current pricing of a 91 basis point interest rate cut seems reasonable. Zanni stressed that even if the Federal Reserve delays raising interest rates, the European Central Bank will not be deterred.
