MakerDAO co founder: DeFi front-end may require a license to operate in Europe
MakerDAO co-founder Rune Christensen warned that the EU’s specific interpretation of MiCA regulations could cause disruption to DeFi development. Christensen said there is news that financial regulators in Europe may require every DeFi front-end in the region to register and operate under a license. He is worried about the possible impact of this decision, saying that "it will make DeFi front-ends based on ordinary Internet domain names unviable." Additionally, Christensen detailed that only decentralized or locally downloaded frontends will be able to run, as well as those with KYC measures and procedures in place.
