Study: Half of Solana pre-sale tokens launched between November last year and February this year were malicious
PANews reported on April 8 that according to data shared by blockchain security company Blockaid, 50% of pre-sale tokens launched in the Solana ecosystem between November last year and February this year were malicious, Unchained Crypto reported. The data highlights two key factors that helped the scam spread within the Solana ecosystem.
Blockaid co-founder Ido Ben-Natan said that firstly, driven by the popularity of legitimate meme coins, the number of pre-sale tokens increased exponentially in February and March, providing fertile ground for scammers; in addition, scams The attackers are good at exploiting users' FOMO emotions and employ sophisticated strategies, such as imitating legitimate transactions and creating deceptive websites. These findings highlight the need for enhanced security measures in the Solana ecosystem.
The research comes as Solana’s performance in processing transactions is suffering due to the popularity of Meme coins and the massive amount of spam that programmatic trading bots are flooding the blockchain network.
