The U.S. SEC postpones the decision on Bitwise and Grayscale's Bitcoin spot ETF options trading application
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has postponed its decision on whether to allow the New York Stock Exchange to offer spot Bitcoin ETF options trading. According to a document dated April 8, the SEC's delay will affect options trading for Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB), Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), and other trusts holding bitcoin listed on the New York Stock Exchange. The securities regulator stated: "The Committee believes it is necessary to designate a longer period of time to take action on this proposed rule change in order to have sufficient time to consider the proposed rule change."
The next deadline for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regarding the proposed rule changes by the New York Stock Exchange is May 29, when a decision must be made either approving, rejecting or postponing.
