Helius CEO: The issue with the Solana network is not a design flaw, the repair program is expected to be launched on April 15th
On April 9th, Mert Mumtaz, CEO of Solana's ecological development platform Helius, explained the reasons for Solana's recent network instability in a social media post. He pointed out that the problems currently faced by Solana do not stem from protocol design flaws but are due to bugs in specific implementations. Solana uses the QUIC network protocol, but there are some defects and errors in the current version of QUIC implementation. The design of a protocol is like the overall design of a car while its specific implementation is similar to different models of cars from various brands. If one model has issues, it doesn't mean all cars have design flaws. Solana only needs to replace problematic "parts" without changing the entire "model". He revealed that Firedancer's ongoing development does not have these same issues. A fix is expected to be launched on April 15th; if other issues are discovered during testing, this date may be postponed. Besides technical issues, he believes that Solana also needs to consider long-term economic sustainability factors and can plan more clearly for local cost markets and economic incentives after fixing bugs.
