PANews April 11 news, according to Cointelegraph, during the Paris Blockchain Week, VanEck CEO Jan van Eck said in an interview that retail investors have been the main source of U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF capital inflows. Van Eck said the initial success of the ETFs, which have attracted billions of dollars in inflows on some trading days since their launch, has exceeded his expectations. However, he believes these inflows have not been affected by heavy investment from traditional finance (TradFi) players. van Eck said: “I’m surprised, but I don’t think it’s traditional investors yet. I still think 90% of the inflows are from retail investors. There are indeed some large Bitcoin players and other institutions that have moved some assets in, but they have not done so before. Already invested in Bitcoin.”

Van Eck added that so far, no U.S. banks have officially approved or allowed their financial advisors to recommend Bitcoin. Next month may see some large institutional investment from banks and traditional companies, but the Bitcoin ETF field is still in its infancy. stage. Regarding “why investors prefer to invest in Bitcoin ETFs instead of directly purchasing and managing BTC,” van Eck said that convenience is a main reason because investors want fund managers to be able to manage their entire portfolio.

van Eck also said that his tendencies as a “skeptical businessman” made him wary of any emerging assets that might compete with gold: “In 2017, we said that Bitcoin would not replace gold, but it would play a significant role in people’s portfolios. Replenishing gold. I started looking at Bitcoin, not really obsessed with it or anything. I just think sometimes you really need a store of value."
