EtherCore Developer Meeting Reveals What's Possible in the Next Upgrade (Pectra ) and When It Will Happen
Following the Dencun upgrade, EtherNet is planning its next improvements, and the content of the next upgrade, "Pectra," has yet to be finalized. The main body of the EtherCore developer meeting on Thursday said Pectra could include Ether Improvement Proposal (EIP) 3074, which would allow users to batch transactions and sign them all at the same time. The other major change proposal, EIP 7251, increases the pledge prefix for verifiers from 32 ETH to 2,048 ETH, a 64-fold increase.EIP 2751 is positioned to enhance the operational burden on pledgers, consolidate the number of verifiers on the blockchain, and allow pledgers to deploy fewer resources for pledging and verification.Subsequent upgrades to Pectra will include the long-awaited "verkle trees" - a new data system designed to help Ether nodes store large amounts of data. Ethernet expects to launch Pectra sometime in late 2024 or early 2025.
