Volatility Shares: Leveraged Ether ETF to Trade on June 4
Volatility Shares announced that the first leveraged Ether ETF, the Volatility Shares 2x Ether Strategy ETF (ETHU), will begin trading in the U.S. on June 4th. This marks the first leveraged ethereum ETF coming to the U.S. market roughly a year after regulators first approved a leveraged bitcoin ETF. This success could pave the way for the final approval of spot ethereum ETFs, according to Stuart Barton, chief investment officer at Volatility Shares. Last week, the SEC approved key regulatory filings related to the spot ethereum fund, but has yet to approve its official launch. Barton noted that while the details of the spot ETF are still under discussion with the SEC, the launch of the leveraged ethereum ETF suggests that the SEC's interest in further launching cryptocurrency-related ETFs is growing.
