21Shares Co-founder: The lack of collateral for spot Ethereum ETFs will not affect the demand of institutional investors
Ophelia Snyder, co-founder of digital asset management company 21Shares, stated that institutional investors are unlikely to worry about the inability of U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs to stake Ethereum for additional returns, despite retail investors' desire for this built-in feature. This difference implies that providers may list separate and different products to meet the needs of both parties; staking assets can affect liquidity, and institutional investors would like to see a track record of effective handling of withdrawal delays by asset managers because it requires inherent risk management. In addition, government tax issues need to be considered; it is currently unclear how staking rewards are taxed in the United States.
