Insider: Apple did not start cooperation with Meta AI because it believed its privacy protection was not up to standard

Odaily News Apple has rejected a proposal from social networking company Meta Platforms to integrate its artificial intelligence chatbot into the iPhone, according to people familiar with the matter. The report noted that the two companies have not discussed an artificial intelligence collaboration involving Metas Llama chatbot and only had brief talks in March. Discussions about a potential collaboration have not yet entered the formal stage, and Apple has no active plans to integrate Llama into the iPhone, mainly because Apple believes that Metas privacy protection measures are not strict enough. The decision came as Apple began discussing deals to use OpenAIs ChatGPT and Alphabets Gemini in its products. Apple unveiled its long-awaited artificial intelligence strategy at its annual developer conference in early June this year, bringing OpenAIs chatbot ChatGPT to its devices and integrating its new Apple Intelligence technology into its suite of applications, including the virtual assistant Siri. Apple and Meta did not immediately respond to requests for comment on this report. It is worth noting that the Wall Street Journal first reported the news of the negotiations between the two companies last Sunday, but the latest information indicates that, at least for now, the cooperation has not made substantial progress.
