Vitalik: Reducing hash functions to discrete logs is not desirable
Ether co-founder Vitalik Buterin replied to Netflix on X: “Reducing the (Sinsemilla) hash function to a discrete log is undesirable because one of the potential goals of looking at the hash function is quantum resistance. We would like to be able to do this once and then fix the state tree from that point on.”
