Franklin Templeton seeks approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for its cryptocurrency index ETF
Asset management company Franklin Templeton has submitted an S-1 application to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), expanding its influence in the cryptocurrency market. The application, submitted on August 16, seeks approval to launch a new cryptocurrency index exchange-traded fund (ETF) holding Bitcoin and Ethereum. According to the S-1 document, this ETF will track the CF Institutional Digital Asset Index, initially focusing on Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). The document also indicates that more cryptocurrencies may be included in the fund in the future, depending on regulatory changes and market dynamics.
