Solana eco-gaming project MagicBlock closes $3m pre-seed funding round
Solana-based gaming project MagicBlock has closed $3 million in pre-seed funding with participation from venture capital giant Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). MagicBlock is developing a game engine that allows video games to run entirely on-chain, which the company solves with a new technology called ephemeral rollups, which temporarily shift Solana's state to higher throughput rollups and then back to tier 1. With the new funding, the six-employee startup will work to expand its team and develop its technology, which includes bringing its game engine to the Solana mainnet and working with on-chain games.
