U.S. stocks open slightly higher, Tesla and cryptocurrency sector soar
U.S. stocks opened slightly higher, with the Dow up 0.51%, the Nasdaq up 0.36%, and the SP 500 index up 0.30%. Tesla rose nearly 8%, after a surge of 29% last week, bringing its market value back above one trillion dollars. Wedbush raised its target price for Tesla from $300 to $400. Bitcoin broke through $82,000 for the first time in history, causing cryptocurrency concept stocks to soar; Bit Digital rose over 17%, Canaan Technology and MARA Holdings increased by more than 15%, Riot Platforms and MicroStrategy rose nearly 10%.
