Nvidia to set up artificial intelligence center in Vietnam, further expanding into Southeast Asian market
as Nvidia strengthens its business in Southeast Asia, the company's founder and CEO, Huang Renxun, has agreed to open an artificial intelligence research and development center in Vietnam. Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said at a signing ceremony held in Hanoi on Thursday that the project and Viettel Group's data center using Nvidia technology will help develop advanced artificial intelligence in the country. Huang Renxun said Nvidia will also acquire VinBrain, the artificial intelligence department of Vingroup JSC, which is the "starting point for the main design center of the future." According to the VinBrain website, it is a start-up company focused on applying artificial intelligence to the medical field. Huang Renxun did not provide a valuation for VinBrain. Representatives of Vingroup were not immediately available for comment.
