Tourism in “Bitcoin City” El Salvador surges 22%, with a sharp increase in U.S. tourists

 as reported by Cryptodnes, El Salvador received 3.9 million tourists in 2024 due to the adoption of Bitcoin, a 22% increase compared to the previous year and far exceeding the levels from 2013 to 2016. The number of murder cases dropped significantly, with only one case recorded in December 2024, and the total number of murder cases for the year decreased to 114, a significant improvement compared to the 6,656 cases in 2015. In addition, the adoption of Bitcoin led to a significant increase in the number of American tourists.
