The SEC and CFTC discuss cooperation methods for cryptocurrency regulation, or may restart the joint advisory committee
According to Fox Business, as digital assets become a regulatory focus, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) are exploring ways to strengthen cooperation in cryptocurrency regulation.
One of the discussion proposals is to reactivate the CFTC-SEC Joint Advisory Committee established in 2010. This committee aims to coordinate both parties' regulation of emerging markets but has been stagnant since 2014.
Last year, CFTC Acting Chair Caroline Pham called for reforming this committee, believing that it would be a new signal for US crypto market regulatory cooperation.
