U.S. CFTC Commissioner Goldsmith Romero to resign after new chairman takes office
According to Cointelegraph, U.S. CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) Commissioner Goldsmith Romero said she will resign from the commission after the new appointee selected by President Trump takes office.
The report pointed out that after Romero resigns, Kristen Johnson will become the only Democrat on the five-person CFTC commission. Goldsmith Romero previously helped rebuild the Technology Advisory Committee at the CFTC, which aims to guide the agency on how best to address the cryptocurrency industry.
Earlier news had Trump selecting a16z's crypto policy head Brian Quintenz as CFTC chairman.
