Trump to meet crypto leaders as White House summit nears

US President Donald Trump is set to host a crypto summit at the White House on March 7, bringing together industry executives and policymakers to discuss the future of digital assets.

According to David Sacks, Trump’s AI and crypto czar, the meeting will include “prominent founders, CEOs, and investors from the crypto industry,” alongside members of the administration’s working group on digital assets.

Among those expected to attend are Ripple (CRYPTO:XRP) CEO Brad Garlinghouse, Strategy executive chairman Michael Saylor, Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov, Exodus CEO JP Richardson, and Sacks himself.

Bo Hines, the executive director of the working group, will also participate in the discussions.

The agenda remains unclear, but the summit comes as the administration explores a potential strategic stockpile of cryptocurrencies, including XRP, Solana (CRYPTO:SOL), and Cardano (CRYPTO:ADA).

Since taking office in January, Trump has signaled a shift in digital asset policies, proposing a strategic crypto reserve, opposing central bank digital currencies, and rolling back regulatory actions by the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

The SEC has dropped multiple investigations and enforcement actions against crypto firms under Trump’s leadership.

The political influence of the crypto industry has also grown, with Ripple and other firms contributing to the Fairshake political action committee, which supports pro-crypto lawmakers.

Garlinghouse’s personal support for Trump’s campaign has fueled speculation that other industry figures, including Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Gemini co-founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, may attend the summit.

Republican lawmakers have introduced competing stablecoin bills, while some Democratic lawmakers have criticised Trump’s involvement in a memecoin project launched before he took office.

The March 7 event marks one of the first major White House meetings focused on digital assets.

While previous administrations engaged with crypto executives, including former FTX (CRYPTO:FTT) CEO Sam Bankman-Fried’s meetings with Biden officials in 2022, this summit represents a direct engagement between Trump’s administration and key industry players.

The White House has not provided further details on the event’s agenda.
