Three Teenagers in Florida Armed with Guns Kidnap and Steal $4 Million in Crypto Assets
Three teenagers in Florida, USA, are facing charges for armed kidnapping and stealing $4 million worth of cryptocurrency and other digital assets. Belal Ashraf, 16, and Austin Fletcher, along with another teenager, are accused of robbery, kidnapping, and extortion, with Ashraf and Fletcher being tried as adults by a juvenile court judge.
Prosecutors revealed at the hearing that the third teenager is no longer in the United States. It is reported that last November, a man was kidnapped at gunpoint by the three suspects after attending a cryptocurrency event in downtown Las Vegas and returning to his apartment. The suspects threatened him to cooperate or they would harm his father and forced him to hand over his financial account passwords. The victim was then taken to a desert area in Arizona, more than 70 miles from Las Vegas. Eventually, the victim walked five miles alone to a gas station, where he was able to contact friends for rescue.
