UK Prime Minister Starmer has instructed the Cabinet to remain vigilant over a possible US strike on Iran
According to a report by Jinse Finance citing the Financial Times, UK Prime Minister Starmer has warned the cabinet to be alert to the possibility of a US strike against Iran. Just 24 hours earlier, he had insisted that Trump had not indicated any intention to "get involved in this conflict." British officials described the situation as "serious and volatile," and the Prime Minister's team discussed whether Trump might seek to strike Iran's nuclear facilities from the joint US-UK air base at Diego Garcia. So far, the UK has remained outside the Israel-Iran conflict and is determined not to take any action that could lead to the closure of its embassy in Tehran, which is a key Western diplomatic outpost in the Middle East. Officials familiar with the talks revealed that Starmer discussed the possibility of a US attack on Iran at a meeting of the emergency committee in Whitehall on Wednesday local time. Attendees included senior cabinet ministers, military chiefs, intelligence agency heads, and US Ambassador Peter Mandelson.
