ZKM officially launches next-generation GPU-accelerated zkVM, named Ziren
2025/07/08 01:43According to ChainCatcher, ZKM has released a new generation zkVM (Zero-Knowledge Proof Virtual Machine) called Ziren (formerly zkMIPS). By leveraging GPU acceleration, a distributed proof architecture, and a deeply optimized constraint system, Ziren opens up new possibilities for the deployability and scalability of zero-knowledge proof (ZK) systems in real-world applications. Ziren achieves a 30-fold increase in core proof speed, a 15-fold increase in aggregated proof speed, and reduces state preparation time from 5 minutes to 30 seconds. It has already been implemented in the GOAT Network’s Bitcoin-native zkRollup project.
The name Ziren is inspired by a variant of the mythological “Siren,” symbolizing the transition from illusion to reality—technology that is no longer just alluring, but a true promise of practical application. Ziren aims to become a truly efficient, reliable, and deployable zk infrastructure for mainstream developers, supporting proof generation for Rust/C/C++ programs, fully compatible with Ethereum Rust client verification, and helping developers easily build trustworthy zero-knowledge systems.
