Data: Over 3,500 Websites Hit by Stealth Cryptocurrency Mining Attacks
According to a report by Jinse Finance, security research firm c/side recently revealed that more than 3,500 websites have been hacked and secretly implanted with JavaScript-based cryptocurrency mining scripts. The attackers exploited Web Workers and WebSocket technologies to covertly mine cryptocurrencies while users browsed the compromised sites.
