OpenAI releases a low-cost, open-weight language model
According to Jinse Finance, OpenAI has released two open-weight language models named GPT-OSS-120B and GPT-OSS-20B. These models are designed to offer developers and researchers more cost-effective and user-friendly options. OpenAI stated that both models have undergone extensive safety training and testing. An "open-weight" model means its parameters are accessible to the public. Such models provide greater transparency and controllability, but differ from "open-source models," which make the entire source code available, allowing users to freely use and modify it.
