On September 1st, the Lao National Digital Technology Group (LADT) and its subsidiary NewPay held an opening ceremony in Vientiane. His Excellency Prime Minister of Laos, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, attended the event and delivered an important speech. Several government officials, central bank leaders, ASEAN country diplomats, and partners from the global Web3 industry witnessed a significant milestone in the development of digital assets in Laos.

As Laos' first compliant third-party payment platform, NewPay partnered with LADT and signed agreements with entities such as the Bitcoin Cash Foundation to advance the issuance of ASEAN stablecoins and build core digital infrastructure like the national public chain in Laos with the support of the government. This ceremony not only showcases Laos' long-term strategy in digital economic development but also strengthens the foundation for cross-border financial cooperation in the ASEAN region.
