$8 Million Cryptocurrency Kidnapping Case Occurs in Minnesota, USA; Two Brothers Indicted
Jinse Finance reported that Minnesota prosecutors announced on September 25 that brothers Raymond Garcia, 23, and Isaiah Garcia, 24, have been charged with armed kidnapping. On September 19, the two allegedly held a family of three at gunpoint in Grant City for nine hours, forcing the victims to log into their cryptocurrency accounts and transfer digital assets worth $8 million. The incident led to the cancellation of the local high school's homecoming football game. After the crime, the suspects fled to Texas, where they were arrested on September 22 and confessed to the crime. The brothers now face multiple felony charges, including kidnapping, aggravated robbery, and burglary. This is another recent violent crime in the United States targeting cryptocurrency holders.
