World Chain Uses Chainlink CCIP for Secure WLD Transfers

World Chain Uses Chainlink CCIP for Secure WLD Transfers

  • World Chain adopts Chainlink CCIP and CCT for secure WLD transfers with Ethereum.
  • Chainlink Data Streams deliver sub-second financial data for DeFi on World Chain.
  • Canton Network and Deutsche Börse expand Chainlink integrations in key use cases.

World Chain, the Layer 2 blockchain supporting World Network’s 35 million users, announced the integration of Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP). The move introduces the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard for Worldcoin’s WLD, enabling secure token transfers between Ethereum and World Chain. At the same time, the chain adopted Chainlink Data Streams to provide real-time financial data for decentralized finance applications.

World (@worldcoin), co-founded by Sam Altman, has made its token WLD a Cross-Chain Token (CCT), enabling it to be natively transferable across Ethereum and World Chain by its 35M+ users, powered by Chainlink CCIP.https://t.co/HMLQBV1uVv

Secure WLD Movement Through CCIP and CCT

The integration establishes WLD as a CCT-enabled asset, which makes it natively transferable across Ethereum and World Chain. According to Chainlink Labs, CCIP offers token movement, cross-chain messaging, and transaction execution within a unified framework.

Developers gain an audited process that reduces reliance on custom bridges, lowering operational risks across networks. The CCT standard allows teams to upgrade existing ERC-20 tokens into cross-chain native assets under CCIP’s security model.

This model avoids fragmented implementations while enabling a standardized pattern for moving tokens between blockchains. Users can now directly move WLD between World Chain and Ethereum without third-party bridges.

Chainlink Data Streams for DeFi Applications

Alongside CCIP, World Chain integrated Chainlink Data Streams, enabling developers to access high-quality market prices with sub-second latency. Pull-based oracles provide price reports that can be posted on-chain, allowing smart contracts to respond quickly to market changes. According to Steven Smith, Vice President of Engineering at Tools for Humanity, this integration supports secure WLD markets and enhances liquidity.

Chainlink Data Streams also allow DeFi applications on World Chain to fetch reliable financial data needed for lending, trading, and liquidity protocols. By combining token interoperability with live data feeds, developers can build applications requiring both cross-chain transfers and accurate market information. This reduces fragmentation across decentralized applications operating within the World marketplace.

Industry Reactions and Related Collaborations

Commenting on the development, Thodoris Karakostas, Director of Blockchain and Product Partnerships at Chainlink Labs, said World Chain’s adoption of CCIP and CCT would accelerate mainstream adoption of secure WLD markets.

He noted the addition of Data Streams as an important step in powering cross-chain applications. This adoption follows World Chain’s earlier integration of Chainlink services in January, aimed at strengthening its cross-chain interoperability.

It also comes as other blockchain networks deepen collaborations with Chainlink. Recently, Canton Network integrated CCIP and Data Streams to support institutional use cases. The network also adopted SmartData services, including Proof of Reserve and NAVLink, while joining Chainlink’s SCALE program to offset oracle costs during its growth phase.

Chainlink Labs became a Super Validator within Canton’s Global Synchronizer, a role that orders cross-domain transactions and supports multi-application workflows across permissioned domains.

In Europe, Deutsche Börse Group’s Crypto Finance switched on Chainlink Proof of Reserve for nxtAssets’ physically backed Bitcoin and Ethereum ETPs. The reserve data, coordinated through the Chainlink Runtime Environment, is written on Arbitrum for public verification, allowing investors, auditors, and partners to check whether reserves match liabilities, boosting transparency in the listed products.

These updates show broader adoption of Chainlink interoperability and data infrastructure across consumer, enterprise, and institutional environments. World Chain emphasized that CCIP and Data Streams are in production, positioning WLD for expanded use across its growing network.

Meanwhile, World Chain’s integration of Chainlink CCIP and the Cross-Chain Token standard enables WLD transfers between Ethereum and World Chain. At the same time, the deployment of Chainlink Data Streams delivers sub-second financial data to support decentralized finance applications. Together, these implementations strengthen WLD’s utility, enhance liquidity, and advance cross-chain development for World Chain’s 35 million users worldwide.

Whale Loses $16M on 60K ETH Buy at $4,230, On-Chain Data Shows

Quick Take Summary is AI generated, newsroom reviewed. A major whale is sitting on a $16M unrealized loss after buying 60,333 ETH at an average cost of $4,230, as the price slipped below $4,000. The massive $238.7 million position was primarily acquired through OTC deals from custodians like Coinbase and Wintermute. The whale is using a portion of the ETH for yield generation by depositing it into Aave's Wrapped Token Gateway, not selling yet. The mistimed large-scale accumulation highlights the volatility
