U.S. Senate Rejects Democratic Government Funding Bill; Federal Government May Shut Down
According to Jinse Finance, citing CCTV News, on September 30 local time, the U.S. Senate rejected the Democrats' government funding bill, and the U.S. federal government may shut down within hours. It is reported that the Senate will next vote on the proposal put forward by the Republicans and passed by the House of Representatives. This proposal would provide seven weeks of funding for the government. If Congress fails to pass a temporary funding bill before the deadline, some federal agencies will be forced to shut down starting October 1, tens of thousands of federal employees will be forced to take unpaid leave, and the release of U.S. economic data will also be affected.
