US Representative: Despite US Government Shutdown, Crypto Market Structure Bill Proceeding as Planned
October 9th — According to Cointelegraph, U.S. Wisconsin Congressman Bryan Steil, one of the original co-sponsors of the House's crypto market structure bill known as the CLARITY Act, said that despite the government shutdown, the Republicans still plan to pass the bill by 2026.
Steil stated in an interview that the Republican legislative plan is still moving forward, aiming to establish regulatory clarity for the digital industry. Senate party leaders have pledged to have the Senate version of the bill signed into law by 2026, but with the U.S. government shutdown now in its eighth day, the industry has expressed concerns about the legislative process.
