Standard Chartered Bank actively expands into blockchain finance, believing it will replace traditional financial infrastructure.
According to ChainCatcher, citing a report from Hong Kong Economic Journal, Goh Tianjue, Global Head of Standard Chartered’s Corporate and Investment Banking Commercial Platform, stated that distributed ledger and blockchain technology will eventually replace traditional financial market infrastructure, and financial institutions that do not keep up with the times will face elimination.
Standard Chartered is simultaneously deploying innovative financial businesses such as tokenized deposits, stablecoins, and central bank digital currencies (CBDC) to enhance its market competitiveness.
