Vitalik explains the reason for Ethereum contract size limit
Show original
On December 23, Ethereum founder Vitalik responded to community questions regarding the contract size limit on Ethereum, stating that this restriction is in place due to DoS risk considerations. In the future, after Ethereum's state structure is upgraded to a unified binary tree (EIP-7864), it may be possible to have no limit on contract size, but issues such as Gas fees and mechanism design for deploying extremely large contracts will still need to be addressed. Currently, based on the creation cost per byte, the actual contract size limit is approximately 82KB.
