Cardano Foundation DRep Changes Vote to "Yes," Supports Treasury Withdrawal for Free CDN
Foresight News reports that the Cardano Foundation DRep has changed its vote to "in favor," supporting the proposal to "withdraw 605,000 ADA to provide developers with a free native asset content delivery network (CDN)." The initial "against" vote was due to financial and funding concerns, but additional information provided by the NFTCDN team has addressed these issues. The proposal includes offering all Cardano developers 18 months of free native asset CDN services, aiming to solve the high cost challenges faced by developers. The NFTCDN team has provided a clear budget for salaries and infrastructure costs; during the 18-month strategic period, data will be collected for DReps to vote on three sustainable future paths (open source, decentralization, or transfer to a nonprofit organization). Project Catalyst does not have a suitable funding category for such infrastructure projects, so the treasury withdrawal process was chosen. The DRep believes this proposal is a reasonable and strategic public infrastructure investment, offering long-term sustainability and immediate value.
